Frequently Asked Questions

Can volunteers work more than one shift?

Yes, volunteers can work multiple shifts, but they can only do one job. If they work as a Banker on Day 1, they must be a Banker for any additional shifts that they work.

We don't have enough volunteers signed up yet, what should we do?

Step One, Don't panic! Many people are reluctant to sign up too early as they don't yet know their schedules and are unable to commit. Waiting too long to start recruiting can be extrememly stressful for your Casino Coordinator. It really is about finding that sweet spot and then not giving up.

So hang in there! If your casino event is one week away and you find yourself struggling to fill those last few spots, please feel free to reach out to us for help. If you have been striving to fill the schedule as provided to you, there is often a little bit of wiggle room to tweek things and make some minor changes based on what days of the week your casino is and which location you are at.

Can people that are not associated with our organization volunteer for our casino event?

Yes, but for Non-Key Positions ONLYKey Positions MUST be filled by Bonafide members of your organization.

When you initially applied to AGLC requesting eligibility to hold a casino event, one of the requirements was that you could provide enough volunteers for the event; so it is extremely important that you continue to maintain your ability to do so. If you can no longer provide enough volunteers, you may be at risk of failing to meet AGLC's eligibility requirements.

You are free to use Non-Members for the following two positions only, Chip Runner and Count Room. (Excluding the Count Room Supervisor)

Licensed charities whose members are disabled may accept outside volunteer help for all positions.

What is a Bonafide Member?

A Bonafide member is an individual who participates in activities of a qualified organization, other than such organization's charitable gaming activities.

Is it okay to recruit volunteers on Facebook and other online platforms?

Can we reimburse our volunteers for a taxi, babysitter or parking?
